Do you love the social aspect of a crochet along? Do you love to crochet all of the holiday items you can? If you answered “yes” to either of these, then this crochet along is for you! What are you waiting for? Read the CAL details below and then join us in the A Crocheted Simplicity Crochet Community group on Facebook for some CAL F-U-N!

Not so sure you’d like to join the CAL? Let me try to twist your arm… keep reading below….

First, a little info about the design!

If you love holiday themed crochet, if you making stockings for your loved ones, if you love gingham plaid, then you’ll LOVE this design!

It’s been a year since my last stocking design and I’ve been wanting to design another one. With each new stocking design I try to incorporate a new element. For this one, that element is tapestry crochet! Now, you may be intimidated by the thought of color work, but I assure you it’s much easier than it looks! Even so, I’ve added both written instructions and a color chart to this pattern.

Yarn: I used Red Heart With Love Metallic in Red & White for one stocking  and Teal & White for the other. I used less than 1 ball of each color to complete one stocking.

Silver Jingle Bells (optional): For an extra festive touch, I like to add 1/2″ diameter silver bells to some of my stockings. I found my bells on Amazon here: Silver Bells

How big is the stocking? When laid flat, the stockings measure 7″ across and 17″ L. Plenty big enough for lots of goodies!

Pattern Difficulty: The stocking is very simple and broken down into small steps with measurements given along the way to help keep you on track. There are photo tutorials included for “tricky spots”.

Tutorials: The pattern includes photo tutorials & a color chart, but if you still need a little help, the best part of a CAL is the extra access you have to myself and many other talented crocheters who are all working on the same thing!

Join me and let’s do some holiday crocheting!

  1. I have 6 grandkids so I would be doing 6 different colors…teal and white, red and white, pink and white, purple and white, orange and white, and maybe a rainbow one…

    1. i will be using black and red for tne first one, then green and red, and white pink and black pn k and white

  2. I’d love to make it but I can’t get the pattern. I’d make red and white for the girls and green and white for the boys

  3. I’ve already gotten the pattern and the yarn. Decided to use the sand colors as you’ve used in the sample. Can’t go wrong with tradition 😊

    1. My girls will probably want one in “girly” colors…pink, purple, etc .And my son’s favorite colors are currently red and blue, so I’d probably o his in those colors.

  4. I think I will make this stocking with blues and black for the plaid. White toe/heal/cuff. Love how this pattern looks Jen.

  5. I like the red and white colors, but also like green and white and maybe purple and white! Thanks for a fun CAL and contest!

  6. Hi Jennifer! 🙂 I’ll be using a gorgeous deep Burgundy and White….yours is just too pretty! 🙂 It’s going to be MY Stocking 😀

  7. So cute!
I think I will be using a baby blue and white. Most all my Christmas decorations are blue and white instead of the traditional green, red, and white.
Thanks so much for the pattern!

  8. I’m making a red and white one first. Then I’m going to make more in my grandchildren’s favorite colors. I hve 9 so I will be busy LOL

  9. This looks so different than the plaid and should be so much fun to make in a variety of colors. Looking forward to it!
