January 16, 2017 By Jennifer Renaud 6 Comments

Have you tried (and failed) to work the Herringbone Half Double Crochet Stitch (Hhdc)? While it’s an awesome stitch, it’s also a finicky one, isn’t it? How many times has the head of your crochet hook caught that first loop that you’re supposed to pull the yarn through? How many times have you thought to yourself “Is this stitch really worth it?” Well, if the answer to either of those questions is “several”, then this short video clip is just for you! Watch it, practice it, and master the Hhdc! πŸ˜€

This short video clip came about when a tester asked me if I had any tips I could share with her on working the Hhdc. She told me that she’s always loved the look of this stitch, but she has never been able to work it fast enough for her liking and has set many projects aside because of it. At first I didn’t think I had any tips I could share with her, but as I was working up a swatch I realized there were 2 things I did without realizing I did them that helped me find my own groove when working the Hhdc.
